PS3 classics on PS5 would be cool, but they're not gonna happen. The people who want to play PS3 games, but don't want PS Now or don't have good enough internet to play them? Why? My guess is if you so desperately want to play PS3, you had a PS3, and you probably still have it. The people who do want to play old PS3 games, will get PS Now. On the other hand, they could sell a subscription to PS Now, which costs less to operate and is a guaranteed revenue source. ![]() There's no way they could recoup that $10 million. It was first released in Japan on 4 March 2000. A ton would not work at all and people would get pissed when their favourite PS3 games don't work. The PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a home video game console developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. On top of that, there's almost no way they could assure everyone that most games work. Then what? Sell old PS3 games? At even 30% the cost, few people will buy old PS3 games. Let's say it costs $10 million to make an in-house PS3 emulator for PS5. Sony could do it, don't get me wrong, but would it be worth it financially? Probably not. As others in this thread have said, emulation is not easy.
